What is 'A Bible Verse Every Minute'?
This is a Web site which displays a Bible Chapter
and Verse each minute correlated to the time of day
That is, if it is 8:03 AM we display Chapter 8 Verse 3 from a Book in the Bible.
What does match the current hour and minute mean?
For example if it is 8:03 AM we randomly select a Book in the Bible and then display Chapter 8 and verse 3 from that Book.
As each minute changes on the clock we re-select a new Book where the Chapter number matches the current hour and the Verse number matches the current minute.
How do I use this Web site?
Go to www.ourfathersson.com, wait for the Web site to load and Bible Verses should appear and change each minute. There is a selector in the menu bar where you can select Old or New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John or Acts. On our server we have many randomly selected Chapters and Verses. Reloading the Web page should create a whole new set of random Verses for your interest.
Why build a Web site like this?
There are many web sites that display a daily Bible Verse and also many Bible study web sites. Our goal is to do something completely different. As a new Bible verse appears each minute we hope you will be inspired to look deeper into the text before and after this Verse and learn more about the Bible.
So just watch a clock?
Well.. hopefully you will see there is more than that. Reading a single Bible Verse can really catch our attention. For example in John 1:37 The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus. Don't you want to know more? What happens next? What happened before? Which two disciples? Go get your Bible and find out.
So your goal is to inspire or to educate?
Well maybe a bit of both. Although the Verse is new each minute we hope you might return to a Verse later to read more or learn more if the displayed Bible Verse inspires you to do so.
Is there a meaning to the Book, Chapter and Verse you display?
No. We randomly select a Book in the Bible which has a Chapter number matching the current hour and a Verse number matching the current minute. We then display that verse. If you move your computer mouse over the selected text the previous and next Verses will appear.
Sometimes you display Verse from the Book of Psalms or just a Book description, why?
As we move later into the hour of the day and minutes past the hour there simply are not enough
Bible Chapters and Verses to match every hour and minute. For example - there are no Chapter and Verse in any Book matching hour 21 (9 PM) and minute 47 so we display a description of a Book in the Bible. For some later hours we display a Psalm Chapter and Verse for example - hour 21 (9 PM) and minute 50 we display Psalms 50:21.
What Bible translation is this?
All text comes from a copyright free Public Domain web site source. For a copyright free Public Domain source of a modern translation we recommend you visit http://ebible.org/web/.
Why did you choose this Bible translation?
There are significant copyright issues involved with modern Bible translations found online. We could not easily and/or economically overcome these issues. In some cases we could not get permission from the copyright owner for our use therefore we had to seek out a copyright free Public Domain source.
The Bible version I use is different than yours?
It probably is. There are many, many translations to choose from and we are not saying
one translation is better than another. Please compare the text from this site with your Bible text.
